Posted By admin On 30.12.19FYI, I emailed Haynes repair manuals last week to find out if they were considering publishing a manual for our 3rd generation Escapes. Per their reply (copied below), looks like it will be available sometime this coming May. 'Dear George, Thank you for your inquiry. We just finished the Escape manual teardown.

I've had a few over the years but find them desperately lacking. The factory written manuals (whether Ford, GM, VW, or???) are more detailed and provide so much more information. If I could pickup the CD for my FE on the cheap, I would.
But I hope to never need to use it. I'm getting ready to sell my set of 2000 GM S/T factory workshop books (Blazer, Jimmy, S-10, Bravada). They cover theory for each system and diagnostic steps for virtually every CEL code. You don't find that in the 3rd party books, or at least didn't the last time I checked.
BTW, I still have my big blue 1970 Chilton's bible that covered all American makes. I actually refer to it occasionally. I agree that you can't beat the factory manuals (which are now digital). Some of us old timer baby boomers, do prefer a book vs a digital edition. I use to find the paper manuals on ebay and order them there. Last manual I still have was for 2010 Explorer/Mountaineer. I do see on ebay where you can get a paper manual for wiring diagrams/ schematics for 20 to 25 dollars.
Out of curiosity, has anyone tried the ebay digital versions for our Escapes. Looks like one version may be on a disc, and the other may be some sort of file emailed to you?
Anyone have any pro/con thoughts on them? Thanks, George.
