Hello Nate, The maximum resolution that VideoStudio will export in is 4K, AKA 3840 x 2160 lines or 8.3 megapixels in a 16:9 format. However, when selecting a video format and resolution, it is important to consider what you will be playing it on.

If you are planning on using the 4K resolution, make sure your monitor or the DVD player & TV you are using are capable of displaying 4K resolutions! While televisions and monitors with that resolution are becoming more common, the most common size these days is 1080p, or 1920 x 1080 lines. Some devices will scale a 4K signal down to display, but many will simply not understand the input and will either display nothing, or an error message. A very good tutorial. Even though I’ve been making slideshows for the last several years, I still picked up one little tip I wasn’t aware of. One caution however. If you decided to burn your slideshow onto a DVD to share, if you are using the plain DVD format it works well; however, if you want to take advantage of high resolution photos or videos and large screens, you need to burn the DVD in AVCHD format. This produces excellent results. Unfortunately even Videostudio X10 still has a glitch that prevents some files from creating AVCHD videos. Corel doesn’t know the source of the problem as of this date.

Try it anyway. If it works, the results are fantastic! I show mine on a 60″ wall mounted TV and they are great! May 12, 2017 at 8:45 am.
